We inaugurated the Rivera Airport!

The first binational airport in Latin America and the second in the world.

With great satisfaction, we celebrate the official inauguration of the International Airport of Rivera, along with the President of the Republic, Dr. Luis Lacalle Pou, Brazilian authorities, as well as ministers and representatives of Corporación América Airports.

This milestone represents a significant achievement, as not only has there been a renewal in infrastructure and services, but it has also been declared binational, being the first airport in Latin America with this distinction and the second in the world.

The improvements included the expansion and renovation of the airport terminal, as well as the modernization of aeronautical infrastructure. These actions have provided the opportunity to boost connectivity and decentralization, seeking to strengthen the airport network to contribute to the economic, tourist, and logistical development of the country.

The modernization process, which began in March of this year, has been an effort to raise operational safety standards in accordance with the norms established by the International Civil Aviation Organization. With an investment of US$ 13 million, improvements were made to the passenger terminal, the control tower, and the aeronautical communications system, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

We continue to strengthen the National System of International Airports

Rivera joins the already operational airports of Carrasco, Punta del Este, and Carmelo. In turn, the works at the Salto Airport are nearing completion, and by 2024, we will begin the modernization processes of the airports in Melo, Paysandú, and Durazno.

We are proud of our team and excited about the growth potential that these projects will bring to the country.

The sky of Uruguay is increasingly connected!
