We are proud to announce the inauguration of the new Paysandú International Airport “Brig. Gen. (Av.) Tydeo Larre Borges.”
This achievement marks a significant step in strengthening a modern and world-class airport network for Uruguay.
The inauguration took place in December at an event attended by the President of the Republic, as well as national and departmental authorities.
Paysandú has now become the fifth airport we have modernized as part of the development of the National System of International Airports, through which we are transforming Uruguay’s airport infrastructure.
The renovation of Paysandú Airport included new aviation infrastructure, the incorporation of advanced technology, and state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring an airport that meets the highest international standards in operational safety and service quality.
In addition to its importance for tourism connectivity, airports play a crucial role in healthcare, through emergency flights and evacuations, and in commerce and logistics, boosting the region’s economic growth.
Paysandú Airport joined the operational airports in Carmelo, Rivera, Salto, and Melo in the final month of the year, with Durazno to follow soon.
