New International Airport of Melo!

We are excited to announce the inauguration of the new International Airport of Melo. This milestone marks another step forward in developing a safe and modern airport network for Uruguay.

Together with the President of the Republic and national and departmental authorities, we celebrated the inauguration of the fourth airport we have modernized as part of the development of the National System of International Airports.

The investment in infrastructure in Melo included significant modernization of aeronautical facilities, the incorporation of new technology, and modern equipment to ensure an airport that meets the highest international standards for operational safety and service.

“We believe this airport will be a catalyst for development, driving decentralization, creating local job opportunities, and invigorating the area,” stated Diego Arrosa, CEO of Corporación América Airports in Uruguay.

Airports play a fundamental role in countries for tourism, health through medical and emergency flights, as well as for commerce, logistics, and development. That is why we are committed to continuing to create new opportunities for the region and the country.

The Airport of Melo joins the already inaugurated terminals in Carmelo, Rivera, and Salto, with Durazno and Paysandú to follow soon, further connecting the country.
