We are proud to announce the inauguration of the new Durazno International Airport “Santa Bernardina,” a milestone celebrated together with the President of the Republic and national and regional authorities.
This project is part of an ongoing effort to improve the country’s air connectivity, which also included the airports in Carmelo, Rivera, Salto, Melo, and Paysandú. With the opening of Durazno Airport, we have completed the modernization of the six airports that are part of the National System of International Airports.
The investment at Durazno included the modernization of the aeronautical infrastructure, incorporating cutting-edge technology and high-quality equipment. Additionally, a new passenger terminal was built to develop an airport that meets the most stringent international standards in terms of operational safety and service quality.
Diego Arrosa, CEO of Corporación América Airports in Uruguay, highlighted the importance of this achievement: “With the opening of Durazno Airport, we have completed the consolidation of the National Airport System, with six modern, safe, and top-tier international airports, enabling more efficient connectivity for Uruguay”.
This achievement symbolizes a key step in strengthening a modern airport network that contributes to the goal of a more connected Uruguay.
