Making Every Journey Accessible

Carrasco International Airport has become the first in the world to incorporate NaviLens universal accessibility technology, integrated into its wayfinding system and real-time flight information.

This project is part of our ongoing effort to become more inclusive every day and to offer a barrier-free travel experience to all our passengers.

NaviLens is a pioneering signage technology that makes it possible to transform any physical space into a smart, navigable environment. It is an orientation solution designed for people with visual impairments and international travelers, aiming to provide a fully accessible setting.

The system operates through color-coded markers placed at different points throughout the airport, which mobile devices can detect from up to 15 meters away, even while moving and without the need to focus.

Through the free “NaviLens GO” app, the technology reads the information embedded in the physical marker and delivers it to the user through audio, providing location-related guidance for each point. In addition, through the wayfinding solution, the technology guides the user to the next point.

Thanks to this technology, passengers can independently access crucial information throughout their airport journey.

The content is available in 41 languages, removing language barriers and ensuring signage is understandable for all travelers.

With this pioneering initiative, Carrasco International Airport strengthens its positioning as a leading player in innovation, sustainability, and inclusive tourism.
